How to make a Jet-Racer:
Making the bodyshell:
1: Equipment needed. 2. Score along all dotted lines with a blunt knife (or back of scissors). 3. Cut out the shape carefully.
4. The completed cut-out. 5. Fold up the bodyshell tucking the rear flaps inside. 6. Fix the flaps in place with a glue gun or sticky tape.
Making the chassis:

7. Punch out the holes with a hole punch (or use a sharp pencil - TAKE CARE!) 8. Cut 3 pieces of square section wood (C100)......... 12cm, 8cm and 6cm long using a minisaw and bench hook.
9. Glue the pieces of wood together as shown. 10. Reinforce the joints with card triangles. 11. Trim the ends off the triangle at the shorter end of the chassis.
12. Glue 2 jumbo plastic straws onto the top of the end pieces. 13. Cut straws to leave about 2cm sticking out beyond the wood. 14. Fit the chassis into the bodyshell as shown.
15. The completed body and chassis. 16. Cut 2 pieces of 4mm wood dowel (C093), 14cm and 12cm long. 17. Push on the MDF wheels (W106) leaving a small gap (as shown) to allow the wheels to spin freely.
18. Fit the balloon onto the piece of PVC tubing. 19. Thread the tubing down through the square hole and through the hole at the back.
